Rotten smell after male ejaculation inside of my vagina

Some one pleas help explain what is causing my boyfriends cum to smell so bad inside of me?! Sometimes it takes a week for it to fully leak out of me! Sometimes I feel like it rots in there and then leaks out. It smells so bad!!

I need advice as to what is causing it and how to get rid of it? I will do anything accept duche because I was told it isn't healthy, thanks in advance !

Fresh semen is usually odorless. If you boyfriend used a condom for a while it would be interesting to see if this odor went away. Because another explanation for it is that you have, through no fault of yours of course, bacterial vaginosis.

Yea I definitely know it's not BV, I've had it years ago. I did notice if we haven't had sex for awhile I couldn't smell it. It's always days after sex and when it's leaking out.

The only thing I've found online was that it could have to do with my partners diet. It was weird one week when they supposedly ate healthy I didn't smell anything. Idk but it's driving me insane

The immediate question would be is he keeping is genitalia clean with an anti-bacterial soap, and in particular the glans and the foreskin,

The same would go for you when you are preparing to have sex and on a daily basis keeping your vulva clear with an anti-bacteria type soap/gel.

Is he pentrating you without a condom, and the ejacuate is still running our with an odour.  If he using a condom, is the same one each time.  It could be that part of the condom has collapsed and trapped in the vagina, and is decomposing.

The next question would be how long is it since you started having unprotected sex?

This may sound odd, but if an old condom had split or come off during withdrawl and it had not been noticed, that could still be sitting in the vaginal tract/Bith canal and decomposing.

If that is the case you need to get to see a doctor as soon as possible because you are leaving yourself open to septicemia.  Also your boyfriends ejaculate is the substance causing the odour, then he needs to see a doctor quickly as there could be issues with his prostate gland.

What is going through my mind is whether his prostate gland is losing its effieciency by not closinging down the urethra which allows urine to pass through, but not semen.

In theory the Prostate Gland is there to stop urine and ejaculate to be expelled at the same time.  If the gland is not working properly then it may be that is exactly what is happening and both urea and semen are being introduced at the same time. Again in theory this  should not happen, but doesn't mean it can't.

Does the ejaculate that falls our of the vaginal tract smell of Ammonia?

If that is the case it would be an indicator that there is something more serious going on. Both of you need to see a specialist in sexual conditions and symptons so that tests can be taken.

I know this sounds a bit crude, but if you could catch some of the ejaculate that flows out of yourvagina in to a small, sealed bottle about the size of a test tube; and get your partner to withdraw as soon as possibe after the initial ejacualtion.  If he can capture the remaining semen which is still being pushed out through the glans of the  penis, in again a test-tube type of arrangement which an be sealed that would be helpful.

Make an appointment for both of you to see a doctor at the same time and ask if he can get the ejaculate in both samples analysed as  that may provide an answer.

Either way you need to see a doctor sooner rather than later.

I think you should both visit a doctor. There are a lot of things that could be causing this. Are you saying the smell is ONLY there after sex (and for a few days after). Also I have never known ejaculate to stay in the vagina for days then leak out (or continue leaking out for days for that matter). Are you positive it isn't discharge? Particularly if you have washed yourself properly between the sex and the ejaculate leaking out?

You say you are positive it isn't BV, but the only way you can be sure is if you have had a swab tested. BV wont always smell exactly the same, so you can't rely simply on past smells if you get my drift.

Are you active? Or at least sitting upright for a lot of the day? I am just trying to figure out why the ejaculate is 'staying inside' for so long (if it is the ejaculate which it might not be) and wondered if you spent a lot of time laying flat so it doesn't have much chance to come out?

In the mean time, perhaps using a condom is a good idea. It means no ejaculate can get left inside and may help show what the smell is really coming from.

I know a poor diet can make semen taste bad, but it shouldn't cause the type of odour you are describing.

Anyway there is obviously a problem somewhere along the line so a chat with your doctor is your best bet. x

I agree with most of what you have said, but washing the vagani with an antibacterial soap is a very bad idea. It kills off all the good bacteria too. In truth, since the vagina is self cleaning, the best thing to wash it with it plain water. However, since I know that can make some people feel uncomfortable, using a VERY mild soap or a feminine wash product designed for that area is best. Washing the vagina too much (even putting strong soaps in a bubble bath) can actually cause BV by upsetting the natural flora balance.

Vagina even!

I figured it wasn't BV because I've had it numerous times in the past and it itches and it was cottage cheese like.

What's coming out of me looks like cum, and it only smells after a few days and it leaking out. And I'm sure it's from sex because it happens no other time. We stopped having sex to see if that's what it was, and it doesn't happen unless he ejaculates in me

I will be making an appointment for this weekend and I'll let you know the results, but we have not been using condoms and we have been having unprotected sex together for eight months now.

And it doesn't smell like ammonia. I can't really describe it.. It's different than anything I've even smelled before. It doesn't have the fishy smell. So I have no idea what it can be

Cottage cheese like discharge and itching is most commonly associated with thrush. When I had BV it was more like what you are describing. Was the BV diagnosed by a doctor and swabbed to confirm.

All I can reiterate is that you need to go to your GP. x

I think you're misunderstanding me sad. I'm saying in the past that was what BV was like for me. And now a cum like substance is coming out, but it reeks. It happens a few days after intercourse and won't happen again unless he ejaculates in me.

But yes I will most definitely let you know what the doctor says.

When I had BV in the past it was recurrent. I took the orange pill to cure it and it didn't work, but the metronidazole gel and that worked great!

I do understand wha you are saying hun, I am just going from personal experience here. I presume your doctor did swabs every time you had BV to confirm?

If you were to google Itching and cottage cheese discharge thrush would no doubt be the first thing to come up, that's the only reason I mentioned it.

It could be that you are allergic to your partners semen. The doctor will be able to run all the appropriate tests, so no doubt you will find out what is wrong soon.

It might be worth seeing if the same thing happens if you have sex using a condom.

Anyway, good luck with the doctor and please do let us know how you get on. Hopefully it will be something simple and easy to fix so you can go back to a normal sex life

Hey Hun! Guess what.. My results were back.. And it's BV ! I was treated for it before my results came back, I don't feel fully back to normal so I'm going to eat lots of yogurt and see if I feel anything changes. If not, I'm going to request further treatment.

Hi Cynthia, I'm not sure what you're referring to because I didn't mention anything about herpes

I'm having that same problem. Did u ever get it cleared up? I thought I was the only one experiencing this. I now know it's semen that causes an imbalance in the vagina. I always try an use a condom but didn't this time (against my better judgement) It takes about 4 day for me & then the discharge & smel begins BLEHHH!! I don't want to douche but I can't stand myself. I'm drinking lots of water, eating garlic & bathining in 'Bragg vinegar'. Its actually helping.

I don't think you understand the medical side of what you're saying, cottage cheese or thrush as she referred to has to do with yeast within your vagina which contains no odor of any type, its commonly associated with itching. A bath with four cups of vinegar would do the trick with that. Yeast grows in warm dark wet places, if that is the case it would be in your best interest to clean it out and then air it out right after. BV or bacterial vaginosis is caused from bacteria within the vagina not fungus and has an unpleasant fishy or foul odor, with thin milky white or gray discharge it may cause itching which only shows in 50% of women. I think you should probably figure out what's going on, if this happens often enough there may be another problem or lead to other problems for instance it could travel past your lady parts and move to other organs

"Does the ejaculate that falls our of the vaginal tract smell of Ammonia?"

What might the Ammonia smell indicate?

Hello Ashley I was wondering if you found out what was making the smell? Nothing is wrong with you or him BECAUSE of the SMELL it's normal. It is normal. I don't know why it happens, I'm seeking the answer myself. I know there isn't something wrong but I do clean it out. It seems unclean to not and I've never had a problem from doushing. Let me know what you found out please.

A fellow Ashley

Wow why would someone come up with something so stupid to say. I'm sorry for her inconcderent words Ashley

Girls it's okay to dough. I do and no there's nothing wrong with us. I have decided to have my partner pull out. He ejaculated on me after pulling out we were still lay together is why and we went right to sleep after whipping it off of course and after working today I still smelled like that and he didn't get off in me! So I am dying to know why this is.
