Runimating causing insomnia. Any suggestions?

Hi friends:

I have been ruminating about something that happened to me over 6 months ago.  It is causing me to literally lose sleep.  Any ideas as to how to stop the madness of ruminating especially at night?  My doctor wants to put me on anti anxiety meds but I really, really don’t want to take anything.  There has to be a way to stop the thoughts that keep playing in my head.  Thank you!

same happend to me. anxiety meds made it worse!

HI. Have you confronted what has happened. Maybe getting it out in the open or speaking to someone involved may help. You need to keep yourself busy and distract yourself. You are obviously a kind and caring person if this is worrying you so much. Do you suffer with Anxiety or had this come on since the event 6 months ago??

Hi:  I wrote the person involved a lengthy note.  Not a confrontational person so this was the best approach for me.  Though I have always been somewhat anxious, true anxiety only set in after this event.  Thank you for your kind response.

HI. Well from what you have said you have reached out and tried your best. Sometimes it's not what you have or haven't done but the other persons personality. You can only do so much and you have tried. Try yoyr best to let it go. You can't force someone to talk through a problem if they don't want to.
