Sad update

Hi All. Things have recently been getting a lot worse day by day pain wise. I met with consultant who appeared concerned and ordered immediate MRI and bone scan. Ultimately, I have been diagnosed with bone cancer. So I’m coming off this forum now and i wish you all the best and thank you for all your support over the months.
Much love, stay safe xx

So sorry to hear that Kirsty. I hope you get the best treatment that’s available!

kirsty, so sorry to hear this. Stay strong. sending positive thoughts to you as you head into new challenges. No words from strangers can really help I guess at this time, but please know I am thinking of you. ⁹

i am so sorry to hear your sad news and i send you all my love and best wishes . I understand how hard this must have been for you being told this as my Son was diagnosed with Cancer this year and it destroyed me inside. The only thing i can say is to stay positive as although my son has had a few times where hes broken down in front of me we have all been there to help him and now he has finished his intense chemo and radiotheraphy and now having his mri and ct scan next week to see if its shrunk the tumour then he gets the results to see if he can have an operation. im dreading the day he gets the results as this will be the day when we find out if his treatment has worked or not. i cannot see my son suffer anymore so im praying with all my heart that the news is good then he can have the operation. Never hold your feelings inside as you need your family and friends .
Good luck with your treatment and stay strong xx

so sorry,

keep positive if you can if not be brave!!!

So sorry to hear you’ve been finally diagnosed with bone cancer. i can see you’re getting a few replies here - and that’s what so great about this forum. I’ve used it for advice, support, information and guidance a few times and it’s so good to communicate with others who’ve shared the same experience. Although we’ll be sorry to lose you, I do hope you go straight on and find a bone cancer forum -I’m sure there’ll be one, and gain the support and share concerns with others in the same situation. Hope you pop back and tell us how you’re doing. Wishing you all the best, love Marianne x

Dear Kirsty, I was so sorry to read your post. What a terrible shock for you. I wish you the very best, stay strong. Sending love and a virtual hug, Judith xx

Hi Kirsty, I’m so sorry to hear this but pleased the feelings you had deep down that something was not right, have finally been answered. I wish you all the best for your future treatment and hope you have close family to see you through this.

You are in some ways very similar to my experience. Three years ago I ended up with 2 operations on one day so had to choose. I chose the new hip because for 4 years I had been told that the red lesion I had was nothing, but it was due to be biopsied that very day. So 6 weeks later I had that operation and it turned out to be cancer, the same cancer that had killed my husband nearly 30 years ago when there was no treatment at all. In the last 5 years advances in treatment have come online which is great and I hope it is the same for you and you will be out of pain before too long. Wishing you the best treatment out there.

Good grief, what an awful thing to have to hear after the bravery of going through the hip op. I echo others sentiments on here, be strong, we are all stronger than we think, be brave and most of all remember to vent as bottled up anger doesn’t help. if you want to private message anybody on here, I am sure they would be happy to listen. keep safe and look after yourself for you and your family, don’t take any poo and demand help at all times. Love and Very best wishes
