Has anyone with copd tried salt cave therapy?
nope hun be interested in how it works and what it is .as this is a new one on me .
always opened minded and interested in anything that could help .thanks for posting.
Don't know this therapy and don't know much about COPD except for the TV ads on U.S. tv for drugs for copd. I have read a lot of info on grape seed extract and copd and you can do a search on this....pycnogenol and copd as well.
I've been taking these antioxidants for 19 yrs and no more allergies and sinus issues and lots of other health improvements....and if they prevent cancer as we were told many yrs ago, what a victory.....These thin and clean the blood so if you take a pharma drug for blood thinning, then you can't take both.
I think I have a separate thread on these antioxidants here....for sure on the allergy group.
What is salt cave therapy in a few words if that is possible.
I tried salt therapy while recovering from double pneumonia. Didnt do the cave technique tho. Bought a fan with impregnated salt filters which you have on while you sleep at night - helped me with my breathing. Told Dr about it (chemists in Australia stock them) and he was concerned how it could affect blood pressure over time. Didnt seem to affect mine at all and havent heard of this as a side-effect. Ive heard it works well for some people. The machine isnt loud at all. Hope this helps.
I found an article about it, dating from 2009, I wonderwhether I am allowed to post it. It sounds very interesting.
I have to say that it sounds feasilble
Emis Moderator comment: I have removed the link as simply Googling salt cave therapy will return various articles.
Our cells NEED Oxygen for healing/.curing. I just made a post on the need for oxygen and I'm back on taking the oxygen cell food I took years ago. All disease need oxygen including copd.
curiouser and curiouser!! I had a pony with COPD ...had to keep him away from all dust and allergens..but apart from that ...no I haven't heard of it! Do enlighten us!
thanks for trying...lets hope the resource you have to offer will come through!

Just discovered in the UK there is an organization called
The Salt Cave clinics
which offer a range of treatment protocols at various prices although the first session is free.
Their website has a list of research papers that I haven't checked out.
We've known for a long time that lung function is related to Vitamin D status and those with higher 25(OH)D levels will have better breathing. Raising Vitamin D3 intake to between 5000~10,000iu daily should bring 25(OH)D3 up to the natural 125nmol/l level for humans. At that level vit d works best at resolving inflammation.
If you use that in conjunction with the other lifestyle modifications suggested in the paper below to preserve cognitive function you will find your body is better able to resolve the inflammation and the metabolic syndrome that is associated with many COPD patients..
The 25 protocols to preserve cognitive function are set out in this paper
Reversal of cognitive decline: A novel therapeutic program
and those will also help prevent diabetes/obesity/metabolic syndrome that makes COPD much worse.
This is also a free full text paper
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and the metabolic syndrome
I think it's important to get to the underlying cause of the problem rather than just rely on treatments to relieve the symptoms. Hence the need to ensure we have optimal levels of natural anti inflammatory agents and lifesyles/diets that don't promote inflammation.
