Anyone having success with a salve or ointment you use to help heal and minimize scars?

I've been using Bio-oil from Bodycare(UK) My physio recommended it.

Vitamin E oil was recommended by my PT and seems to work quite well.

I used E45 intense recovery or bio oil.xx

I have been using Bio oil too, seems to be working

The one I used and swear by is a UK thing. It is Boots scar reducing serum. I found it worked really well and is cheaper than some.

I've alwayscrelied on Vit E oil. .massage it I. With thumbs two e a day.

I was adviced also to use bio oil .. however my scare is so narrow I'm not bothering plus in the past when I've used it I've suffered with pimples along the scare line.

I had success with Palmer's Skin Therapy Oil...I believe it is made in the UK. Any oil that isn't greasy and rubs in well is good. Vitamin E Oil, coconut oil, Bio Oil. The idea is while you're rubbing the oil in, you are helping to break up any scar tissue that may have formed. It also helps when you move the knee cap up, down and back and forth. Which helps with bending your knee because the scar tissue will hamper any movement.

We have Palmer's and bio oil in Australia too .. as you said any that rubs in well is good

I use Bio oil for any type of scar

Our ortho docs recommend vit e cream or oil and massage scar twice a day with it. The massaging helps break down scar tissue and the vit e helps heal.

Vitamin e, massage at least once a day into your scar, best of luck, kathy p.

Here in UK I used Aloe Vera Gel (99.0% grade). PT started me on it for treatment of scar tissue BEFORE scar tissue got too set in - I used it too in between visits.
