I have just lived the worst 5 weeks of my life in a psychiatric Ward . my doctor put me on an oestrogen only gel sandrina of 0.5 mg and with in a few days I was showing signs of paranoia !!!! not too bad to start with but increasing by the hour x I am under the mental health team anyway but have been well for 5 years and their was nothing else that could have caused this reaction . this resulted iin a terrifying 3 week full on psychotice episode and now I'm in a psychiatric ward x anyone else sufferedas a result of this hrt. ..

I am so desperately sorry that you have had that experience. It would be my absolute worst nightmare and am always terrified trying new medication, just incase. I’m glad you are out and hope you feel better soon. I have used Sandrena 1mg. The first time about 5 years ago as party of a combined bhrt prescription, and again last year. I had absolutely no adverse reaction other than generally feeling hormonally imbalanced during the 1st few weeks. I have even gone up to 1.5mg and apart from feeling a bit twitchy and anxious it was OK. Do they think it is directly linked to Sandrena, or could it be more to do with triggering your mental health challenges? Hope you find some answers and I admire you for getting through that. Sara xx
