Sandwich

No more ham sandwiches for me. Had a ham sandwich with a small amount of mayo on it for lunch yesterday can't get off the toilet this morning. Looked back and the same happened last week and the week before. I loved a ham sandwich yet another thing I can't eat x

I feel for you. It becomes all to familiar the foods we can't eat but love. It becomes a really boring diet

I am meeting a friend for a pub lunch really don't know what I can have at the moment they only have tomatoe soup which I love but can't eat fish and chips burger and chips steak I can't eat any of them xx

It's not fair

I agree x

That could be IBS. Nitrates are bad. Running to the bathroom imo after you eat is more IBS than diverticulosis disease. I suffer from both and a good sensitivity for me causes frequent bathroom visits. Until you get it out of your body you keep going. I've had that experience one to many times. Try to eliminate the foods that cause u to go to the bathroom.

The GP said he thinks I have IBS as we has DD I think it might be the mayo I had on my sandwich. I am going to cut out dairy to see if that helps

Poor you. I do feel for you. As I am trying to get to grips with all of this I realise by reading these posts that I am going to have to be really careful what I eat. I am fortunate that I don't suffer from diarrhea or constipation but I do find daily pain difficult and realise that it is diet related. Susan I am sure I read somewhere that you are from Leeds. Me too.

Yes I am I went to jimmys to see consultant who just gave me a website for wind. So I see my GP if I need anything. I think it was the mayo on the ham sandwich so I am not going to use it again. I think I have had DD for years but only got diagnosed September last year. I am 70 now I was told most people of my age have but they don't have any symptoms

I saw a Consultant in Harrogate as a private patient who told me I could eat anything.!! I was diagnosed in March with signs of likely diverticulitis which is not helpful at all as I either have it or I don't!! Would be happy if the likely signs disappeared!! Had colonoscopy ultra sound and CT scan. First two showed nothing but CT scan gave me the last diagnosis. I am 64. I am amazed at how little help is given for this. I have learned more from helpful comments on the forum about it for which I am grateful for. I hope you can find something that you can enjoy which doesn't affect you. As I am so new to this I will keep a food diary to see what affects me but there are days when I'm pain free so I find it a bit confusing. I will talk to my GP about it.

I am keeping a food diary and I don't think it's the ham I think it's dairy I know beef tomatoes chocolate and now dairy upset me fish chicken and veg is what I will be eating from now on and see how I get on
