I urge anyone who may know anything to help
I've had on and off problems for 2 years with my legs and I'm only 40
I am so into power walking and Aerobics and feel this maybe the cause of my pain and injuries
Today I give up, the pain hurts so much I can't even stand for 5 minutes at the Doctors surgery
Symptoms I have is the hottest burning feeling under my legs, as if someone is pouring Acid on it, even when sitting down.
If I get up out of a chair, my bones sound like they snap the noise so loud as if you took a bite of an apple.
I have this horrid Gunge like feeling that oozes down the inside of my legs at various times, or a liquid like sensation
I hate to say this but maybe folk are right pounding the pavements stomping and marching through cities sweating, maybe doing me damage though I feel so good when out of breathe
I feel like a helpless cripple and I've had to refer myself to NHS pysio which could take months
The last thing I want is to loose the use of my legs, and I feel that they are so so problematic that this is becoming my worst nightmare turning into a reality
Please forgive all the moaning but if anyone understands the symptoms or anything or knows any activity I can do
Then please please help 💗
Love Kristian xx
I don't know if you have been to an orthopedic yet but I would do that first. I'm 49 and was incredibly active as well. One day while running at the gym I was feeling great then the next 3 days I could barely walk. When I went to get help at the orthopedic he told me my knees had so much arthritis that they needed to be replaced. So I searched for the best surgeon I could find. I had both of my knees done at the same time because I'm a chef who has a catering business and I had to be back on my feet quickly. It's been 8 weeks and I'm running around pretty well in fact I'm on vacation in Florida. You will know when it's time just find the best surgeon you can I can do everything I used to including skiing. Good luck
The burning and the liquid trickle COULD be varicose veins. I have varicose veins and have experienced both the burn and that weird trickle feeling inside which probably is due to the "faulty valves" of varicose veins.
The snap and pop sounds like my legs as well as my shoulders, elbows, and ankles which pop due to arthritis. My knees used to join the popping chorus, but two years ago I had both replaced.
Sounds like varicose veins and osteoarthritis to me.
Your doctor can refer you to specialists who can help you.
Try taking it a bit easier on the rough exercise and switch to swimming which will provide great exercise with low impact. An easy fix and one which will probably benefit you in many ways without adding pain.
Let us know what you discover, OK?
Wishing you MUCH BETTER days and nights in the future!
Are you now willing to accept advice ?. In your previous post you sad that you didn't want to stop the power walking which was causing you problems . If you genuinely want help there may be people here who can help , but please don't waste their time if you are unwilling to accept that advice .
Its good that you are noe realising that your problem is most probably being caused by your over zealous activities as in speed walking, when you went to see your Dr what was his take on it, has he given you and ideas, you do need to be referred to a vascular specialist and may a rheumatologist, these will have more idea of what's going on and will be able to advise you as to whether physio will be an appropriate course of action to take.
Cease the high impact exercise, maybe try bike or swimming which will help and are not overly expensive
So sorry for the agony you're experiencing. Although I've never had the symptoms that you described I've had lots of leg and knee problems over the years. I have to agree that biking and swimming take the pressure off the joints. Good luck on your journey and finding a doctor that can help you.
Thank you
Yes I keep hearing about swimming, which I haven't done for 20 years and fills me with dread as it seems so boring
I'm not accepting well, that the only 2 health activities I go power walking and Aerobics are meant to not be good for me
I've literally been sofa sitting, as this horrid liquid feeling leaking in my legs is getting worse as is the intense acid like burning inside my legs
Xx
Thank you Cheryl
Yes I'm feeling pretty sorry for myself
At 40 I should not be having to sit around literally doing nothing but eating and watching the Box to get my legs better
In fact I think the intense burning is getting so much worse, as is the stomach churning fluid leaking under the skin of my legs which dosent feel pleasant
I'm seeing a new private pysiothreapist on Monday
But the intense hot burning of my legs even when sitting down and the amount of feeling of fluid leaking is very concerning xxx
Try Aqua Zumba. You won't be bored I guarantee it!
How on earth can I dance properly in a swimming pool, with the water restricting me? Xx
If I went to properly led Aerobics dance class do you think this would be ok
I'm stopping my mad military powermarching which gets me nothing but laughter and cheers from the public, as my legs seize up like solid wood after I power walk and like many have said are probably the reason why I've had so so many leg problems xx
Glad that you will be seeing about the burn a d the annoying g trickle that you feel.
Please let us know how things go, OK?
First, stop the exercising for two weeks...give your body time to heal. If a lot of the pain is gone, you'll know the cause.
Second, go see a SPORTS orthopedic surgeon. Look for a group that works with your local pro and college sports teams. They are the experts when it comes to exercise/sports-related issues. Find out if the problem is in your legs. I say that because the problem can be in your spine. If so, you go see a neurosurgeon. No therapists, osteopaths, neurologists...definitely not a GP. This one's for "The Pros From Dover". You need to find the root cause of the problem and get it fixed...soon. Just stop the exercising and let everything calm down. If you have to do something, then it MUST be non-impact, like an elliptical machine.
Thank you
Well I've sat down for 6 days and today I couldn't bear any longer sitting around, so I took a slow normal walk as if I was walking along a beach for the first time ever.
Not a drop of sweat sadly which my T shirt is normally dripping from my power walking
Sadly it feels even at a pensioner pace, that my legs and feet felt in complete shut down, it feels they have had their brakes put on and don't want to go.
Too it feels like someone has been smashing my knees with a hammer, the tenderness and pain on my knee caps is just unreal
You'd think I'm Mo Farral with all the injuries my body is facing add to the intense burning acid feeling all over my legs and the feeling of Liquid seeping down my legs
Yea sadly all is not good
I wouldn't think so but you need to see what your doctor says. The reason I mentioned the Aqua Zumba is you said swimming was rather boring and this is not. When you're in a position to start exercising again water is very kind to the joints. The aqua class is fun, fast-paced, and is not boring! Water exercise is nothing like bouncing your joints off the floor! Follow doctor's orders. This is just a moment in time but you have the rest of your life to consider. Patience is key. Good luck.
I really think that you're wasting your time replying to him , he only wants to hear what he agrees with and it seems like he disregards any other advise . Sorry if I am wrong but from reading his other posts , I really think I am right .
I'm sorry to say this , but please don't take it the wrong way , have you thought about seeking psychiatric help . After reading your posts I think that may be the answer to some of your problems .
