Hey, it's me again. As you all know, I've really bad health anxiety and recently, it's chosen a new subject. So, I can feel a scab feeling in my throat it's just behind the top of the throat where the tongue begins. I'm scared that it's cancer. It's been there for about two to three months now, it hasn't changed in size. I don't know what it is and I'm scared. Please help.
have you seen a doctor? if not, see one and find out for sure. knowing one way or the other is the only way you are going to be put at ease. are you a smoker? if not, its probably not cancer, but again, see a doctor so he or she can take a look. knowing is half the battle.

As a Registered Dental Hygienist i would highly recommend you see a dentist. There are plenty of benign explanations for what you are feeling but there are also cancers that can happen at the base of the tongue. Instead of guessing and projecting the worst case scenario it is always in your best interest to have a dentist or ear nose and throat doctor evaluate it. This will give you the answer and almost positively piece of mind.
