I've just experienced my first sleep paralysis now I am scared to sleep help?
Hi George....although I've not experienced it myself, I understand that sleep paralysis is not all that uncommon...try to not worry about it, as that will likely make you feel worse....maybe some deep breathing or mindfulness exercises? Or, if you're really scared, maybe call one of the health service hotlines and talk to a professional who can offer reassurance that what you experienced was normal?
I had it once for about 20 seconds. My sister got it for half an hour once lying on the sofa. It happens rarely don't worry and I hear it doesn't happen much if you don't sleep on your back. It's not that uncommon and it's realy is just a phase, you probably won't get it again, I've only ever had it once.
Hi George,
As it's the weekend, have you diagnosed yourself with just having experienced sleep paralysis, or have you spoken to a DR? I know it's difficult, but you really need to try not to google your symptoms, it'll only make thing much worse.
