Hi ladies
After months of debilitating anxiety, sickness and panic attacks Ive finally been diagnosed as peri. My consultant wants to fit a mariner coil on thursday and start me on estrogen pills. I desperately want something to work but am scared to try this... usual drug anxiety! Do people have positive experiences to share??
Anita
I haven't any experience with the coil, I have been prescribed HRT, anti anxiety and antidepressant throughout peri and into menopause, best thing I did , feel so much better. Hope you will as well whatever you decide is best for you. You must be comfortable with your choice and your doctor. Hugs from the U.S.
I have not had any experience of the coil but have a vaginal oestrogen ring fitted.
Hi Anita, I have not had any experience with the HRT or coil but totally understand the medication thing I am the same way...I get nervous taking ibuprophen..lol. Anyway as Loretta states do what is best for you it is a journey one that can be a bit tought at times so if some anti anx meds help out that is fine - Look into progesterone creams too but check with your doctor of course because that is what is happening estrogen is low but it is dominating progesterone also causing estrogen dominant ..I could be wrong but my research has told me this ...good luck ..know you have this post for support!!
Hi Anita, I had a Mirena coil fitted a year ago, for heavy periods etc but I didn't get on with it so had it removed 2 months later.
I bled every day the whole time I had it in and found it painful.
Saying that though, pretty much everyone I know, sister/friends etc all think they're the best thing since slice bread!
I think it's a very individual thing and you won't know how it's going to be until you try it, sorry I haven't been more help

Loretta. If you don't mind me asking, what anti anxiety are you taking. I ask because I'm in peri and on hrt and anti depressants but nothing for anxiety and I really struggle with this.
Thanks.
Helen.
its your choice.
you will definitely feel better on hrt even if you have to try a few different ones to get it right.
you wont believe the difference it will make.
what the docs dont tell you is that whenever you stop taking it, you will get your menopause.
i took it for 12 years and had a wonderful time in my fifties .
at age 63 when i was advised to stop taking it after a polyps removal, my problems started.
stupidly i stopped them immediately.
i,d say go for it girl but remember 10 years down the line, slowly phase them out slowly with your docs help.
