Hi Cheryl,

I started taking sertraline 2 years ago and I agree the side effects in the beginning are pretty grim. I had 2 small children and was still with my husband.

Stopped taking them back in January and about 7 weeks ago felt the full force of going cold turkey. Have now decided to start taking them again but then wean myself off gradually. I've since split with my husband and am now living in my house just with my children.

What I think I'm trying to say is things do improve on this medication. It's easy to say think positively but if you can do that it does help.

I'm also doing the snap band therapy. Look it up on the Internet as that might be of use to you also.

Good luck X

Hi destine123 thanks for the replie.

What were your side effects when u first started if you dont mind me asking.its the hightend anxiety that im really worried about dont think i cope if it got any worse right now.feel so alone in the world just now x

Please don't feel alone because you must definately are not.

I had loss of appetite where is lost quite a bit of weight in a short period of time.

Just wanted to sit in bed and do nothing.

Sweating on my hands and feet. Bit headachy at times but just had a paracetamol and then it was fine.

But you must give it time. Unfortunately it doesn't work overnight and that is what I wanted.

I've also started meditation and listening to relaxation music. Poo-poo'd that at first but it does help.

Let me know how you get on x

However it does go.
