Advice anyone? I am 2 and a half weeks post op. Did everything I should, sat with my foot elevated for 10 days as instructed. Went to see the surgeon on Tuesday and had a couple of holding stitches out, the rest were dissolvable. The surgeon put suture strips and a waterproof dressing on and said to come back in 4 weeks. 2 days letter my foot is hot and swollen and very sore. I have iced and elevated and found some antibiotics in the house which I took last night. It is a little better this morning but I am thinking I need to get to a doctor. Anyone else had this? Amanda
Funnily enough Amanda, I am in the same position, 18 days after surgery. I'm wondering whether I've been on my feet too long. Also, mine feels like bruising, so I'm going to use the ice pack several times today, as well as taking painkillers, anti-inflammatories & arnica. Good luck. I'll be interested to hear whether others have had the same problem.
I am just over 2weeks post op, and had my stitches out the other day and my foot is hot too. I can not tell if it is swollen because it is in a cast.
Just back from doctor. Got antibiotics for possible infection. Hopefully they kick in soon.
