Allow two weeks.
thanks so in a months time did you see improvements?
and could you be active in sports like golf??
You'll be fine by then especially if there is no more blood.
As far a sports activity (depends on what sport). I think it might depend on your age and your general health prior.
I was advised -no streuous activity till the bleeding stopped (4-5 weeks after for me. I'm a runner and did a race at that point).
I had my PAE on April 1st 2015. I drove home (7.5 hrs) the next day. I was playing golf the following week. I did not require a catheter during or after the procedure and I had no bleeding. For a week I had a lot of urgency when I had to pee and some minor burning, but nothing serious. I began to see immediate improvement in BPH symptoms a week and it continued to get better for 2 months. After two months I could say I honestly quit think inking about peeing at all and now after 9 months continue to enjoy life without BPH symptoms and sex life improved as well..
i am probably one of the luckiest ones, but I don't think you will have any trouble with traveling two weeks later.
outstanding
I'm not sure which procedure. For PAE, we drove home over two days, starting 2 days after the day of the procedure. We stopped at every other rest area on the way home, but every rest area on the way up to UNC for the procedure, so that was an improvement.

Hello Lou.
I am kind of jumping in the middle of your discussion, however I had a Urolift and a few days later I had to drive a moving van for my daughter from California to Texas. My dr advised me to have a catheter during this time so that is what I did and no one knew, I did not help loading or unloading the furniture just made mention that I had pulled my back out. the catheter was no problem. I primarily wore basketball pants! Worked out great. The main problem with a catheter is no sex, that was a bummer but it was only a week!
Good luck Lou, You will be fine
Forgot to mention one thing Lou, I purchased a very comfortable "donut". That helped immensely, beings how the prostate is right where you sit so that gave a nice relief area, totally a necessity !
is there any known negative results or issues in during this proceedue
The only issue I have heard of for the pae is that sometimes it works better than others. That said, if it doesn't work, you can get another one, or go on to a different procedure.
Neal
thank you for taking the time to resond. I want to do something before things get out of control. OAE looks like the procedure to go with.
PAE to go with
Thanks Neal, I have yet to hear, from the research I have done of any adverse issues with the procedure.
Lou
Keep your eye on a company called, "NYMOX."
I followed NYMOX's Clinical trials for NX-1207 for a couple of years I even tried to get into a study at one point. Unfortunately they failed their Phase 3 trial over a year ago. That was around the time that I heard about PAE and wound up getting one April 1st 2014. I am delighted that I went ahead with the PAE because it has been a complete success with no sie effects. That being said the NX-1207 is still an attractive looking option if they get it perfected and approved, I see that they got an extension on their phase 3 trial after it failed the first time. It appears that it made it through the phase 3 this time. It is definitely another option worth following, but at present believe PAE is the best option for those needing help now.
I had my Uro-lift done last April had a catheter to. I don't pee on demand so my dr and I throught it was best. I had it done at 1PM on a Monday and drove my son at 7AM to jury duty. I just put my pants over it and I was fine. Came home and laid down. I am having a re done in feb for 1 of the implants I get kidney infections for a stricture and I had one last mouth and it also hit my prostate. And messed up one oh the implants. My urololist informed the uro-lift people so they know. They can put it in one of there trials. I am gland I had it done I have had no problem with it. Sex is great not like some of the others. Take care Ken
hello Ken,
How did they know one of the implants was bad? Also when they re do it do they remove one and then put a new one in? What type of symptoms were you having?
I kind of feel like I may need an additional one put in, My urologist told me that he had put in 5, Which I thought that was odd beings how it seems to me that one should be put in across from the other,
I hope all works out well for you ken!
Hello William,
What is the NX-1207? How does it function
Thx, Anthony
Hello Anthony. I have a scope done every few month to make sure the stricture is ok. I trust my Urologist he great. I was suppose to have it done in December but when I went and saw him I had a kidney infection. And I also told him that when I have a orgasm they hurt so bad I was trying to stop them. He told me that the infection was in my prostate also I was on Ciprofloxacn 500mg 2 times a day for a month. I just had a scope done the other day. It was kinda of funny but it did hurt when he got to the prostate. He got in and guided through the stricture and say what's that and they what do you have in there. I felt like saying . You got the camera what are you looking at. It was one of the implant got loose from the infection. He try to fix it but it hurt so bad I told him to stop. I will be having the one taking out and a new one put in. He put 4 in. I always throught they were put in pairs. Talk to you doctor. Maybe the one side was worse they the other. I had more symptom from the infection. Have not had any problem with the uro-lift.. Talk later...Ken
