Scheduled my second TKR fours weeks after my first Is it too soon?

I am in the U.S. I had TKR and am two weeks PO.

I loved reading everyone experiences

But I have yet to read I have scheduled my second op in two weeks. Did I go a little too fast? I am now feeling the pain and stiffness and the difficulty in the physical therapy

I am thinking in rescheduling I am glad to see everyone gradually doing better

I didn't have my second one until 21 months later, but my first one took a long time to get over and I wanted a break to enjoy myself in-between.  I would have thought 4 weeks was a little early, but your consultant will advise you.

I hope it goes well, whatever you decide.  But remember, no two knees are the same.

Heavens that is very quick!  At four weeks I was still pretty emotional etc. . but on the other hand, I suppose why spread it out over months. . .I don't know.  I couldn't have done it that's for sure!

I definitely couldn't have done it so close, I was still using a cane. And very sore...good luck in your decision ..

I am in California and had my RTKR at Coon Institute on Oct 20/14. I had my 2nd one scheduled for December 2014. I cancelled it because I could not put my body through that much pain again so quickly. It was the most painful procedure I ever had done. It took me until Dec. 15th to,get off of oxy and only be on tramadol. Today, I still have inflammation as my knee is warm. That can take up to a year to completely heal. I am off of all pain mess finally. I will not do,my left until perhaps Dec or Jan.With that said, if you feel you are up to it, it may be best to do it and get it over with. Good luck with whatever you do and keep us posted.

I did my left knee on January 6th and my right on April 9th. It was still a little close for me. I healed really quick on my left but it still puts a lot of pressure on that first leg when it has to do most of the work right after the second is done. Getting up and down was a lot of work for a while. Best of luck though!

i had both my knees done at the same time on the 3rd March this year, omg the pain was unbearable, I have just got of my crutches which is good and my bend is 125 in both knees but I can't straighten them all the way yet! All I can say is be prepared if you are going to have it done and good luck xx

Hard to say Diana.  I had both mine done at the same time so that I did not have to go back again. Both were extremely painful pre op so I figured just go for it. Now at 7 weeks walking without pain or limp. Still have a way to go with my bend, discomfort & tiredness, but no regrets what so ever.

I too had both done at the same time...figured might as well struggle all at the same time. I think it will be very difficult doing them separate and this close together. But what do I know.

Me too!  I felt exactly the same & have not regreted having both done at once.  The thought of going back for seconds just wasn't appealing.
