Just had a phone call to say I will be going in for my right hip on Monday December 14th Op will take place on the 15th almost 8 months to the day after the left one was done. A bit close to cghristmas but I am in so much pain I have to do this.

It is a bit too close to Christmas. But I have waited for 8 months and can't stand the pain any more
The op will be fine it is after that went wrong. I should be more mobile. Unless the weather turns nasty and I can't get out but I will just walk round the lounge and down the hall. At least I know what to expect this time but it still scares me.
Christmas and January are pretty grim in UK anyway so you won't miss much weatherwise
Just walk around indoors and that will be enough at first.
I found walking around the shopping arcade and having a cup of coffee was quite enough at first. I am lucky as our local bus takes us straight there.
By the time the weather gets better you will be ready for big walkies!!!
If the weather will allow me I will get out when I can. I set myself goals so the first time I will walk to the front door of my neighbours house ( about 12 feet )
then in a few days will walk to my next door but 1 neighbour front door ( about 26 feet ) then I will try and make it to the church gate. Then the zebra crossing and so on. That is what I did last time and it worked till it all went wrong. I aim to be able to walk from the hospital entrance to clinic by the time I get my 6 week appointment. Don't think I will make it when I get called to have the dressing taken off and the wound checked at two weeks post op. But I will try to walk a little way.
