Second hip replacement in 2 years

I had a total hip replacement in April 2013 and will have to go for another one this year. I am in so much pain and the more I walk the worse the pain is and the worse the limp is. My hip is also making 3 different kinds of noises (Squeeking, Grinding and clicking) which the doctor says is a bad thing, he said that Ceramic is like glass and when you break glass you can fix it. Does any one els have the same symtoms or noises?

I can totally sympathies with you...i had my 1st THR in April 2014 and my second THR is due take place on 18th February 2015

Before my operation hips would make clinking noise which are very loud and painfully,also hips lock so i couldn't weight bear. Since having THR i feel so much better

just on count down for the 18th

do you have a date for your operation?

I recently had a thr on my right leg but now my previously good left leg is making noises and I limp badly .

Sorry to hear that and hope that it goes well with the second op.

I went to the Dr on the 14.1.2015 and he wants me to see a different Dr on the 26.1.2015 so I should find out then .

Yes it is on the same hip. Hate the fact that I have to go through the

pain again :-( .

Hope you come right with the left leg

The doc should X-ray UR hip for any problems or do a CAT SCAN .if u have any issues with the implant those ae the tests that will identify any problems.

i have had both hips replaced one hip was recalled and redone.

It's so painfu to be stuck in that situation.l I hope UR doc will help give u something for the pain until u can schedule the other hip replaced before necrosis sets in. And follow thru with the above test on the ceramic hip. My hips are metal. Most ceramic do tend to make some noise when moving as they do have components that use a plastic cup in the joints . So during movement when new and a good tight fit they do tend to be a little squeak even at time mine do.

I used a small wheel chair until I could be scheduled for a redo. It put less force and pressure on both hip joints. Just a thought. My ins paid for the rental and life was so much easier for a few weeks.

Not yet no noises.oh dear I have a ceramic hip too rather ceramic socket.

So sorry you have suffered so much best out never time.

So sorry, your THP is worse than mine sad, at least mine doesn't make noise.

Sounds lile the Dr.'s are right, it's a bad hip, which in unlike my condition where there's no noice, no clicking, just pain and infilmation. I almost wish my symtoms were like yours. Least then, the Dr.'s would know it's a bad hip! As it is now that are totally clueless!
