Second hip replacement scheduled

I had to take mine for 35 days. I had rivaroxaban one of the new NOACs.

I was dreadfully nauseous after my op even though it was a spinal. I assume I was upset by the morphine. I threw up for three days afterwards.

Dear Anne

Take the spinal!!!!!  I had that and it was so much easier.  If I had to have another one done I’d take the spinal. First they have you sit at edge of the op table. And I remember nothing after that!!!   I was worried about the spinal. But now would not do it any other way.!!!

That's what I'm hoping happens with me. I'm such a coward when it comes to pain!

Hi Anne, Thanks for raising the Spinal question as I am considering having a spinal with sedation for my second op later this year hopefully.. I don't know for sure but think the Spinal is less taxing on the body [heart] than a general so that is a plus.

Hi breeze, if you are offered a spinal I would go for it.
