Hey guys I'm new to these forums. Just started taking 50mg Sertraline 2 days ago for really bad anxiety. Up until a year ago I had never experienced anxiety and was a really out going person. I took sertraline previously about a year ago for 6 months and made the stupid mistake of feeling fine and so stopped taking it! I quit cold turkey and had no withdraws or anything. I was totally fine up until January where I could feel the anxiety creeping back. The doctors prescribed me Citalopram and I couldn't hack the side effects after 1-2 days so stopped and eventually managed to work my way to of the anxiety as best I could. Well....it all came crashing down 5 days ago. I could feel the anxiety building up but i tried to power through it until I just cracked. I went back to the doctors and they prescribed me 50mg of sertraline. I have taken 3 tablets now and my anxiety is so bad I cannot get out of bed. I have managed to eat bits of food but I do not feel hungry. I have just been laid here for 2 days feeling sorry for myself. Anyone else been like this and got through it? I need a push. Do the meds work as well the second time around?
Hi there, I've been on setraline for about 4/5 years and I'm in the process of weaning myself off. For me I found that setraline really helped with my depression and anxiety but im
aware it can take a few weeks to fully kick in to gear. If you can try and persevere and hopefully you will start to feel less anxious and more positive about things. Good luck things will get easier I'm sure :-)
Thanks! I keep getting waves of hopefulness followed my extreme hopelessness and crying. Its hard to be hopeful when the thought of leaving my house makes me want to be sick ha ha ha

Hi Ruby
i have just started taking Setraline, just over four weeks on 50 and 100 for one week. I actually felt better before I stated taking it but felt I needed to change to a different tablet. I have felt worse and had tummy problems, but the tummy is ok now. After reading a lot of the accounts I am hoping to feel better soon! I've also lost my appetite but I have a drink in the evening to wet my appetite. I think we just need to stick it out and persevere. Good luck! Sue
