I’m glad to hear you’re doing better! I’ve been on 150 for almost 3 weeks now. I think my anxiety is lessening. But I still have to take something for sleep.
This is my third time going on sertraline. The previous two times, 150mg worked really well and didn’t take too long to kick in, maybe around 6–8 weeks. On both occasions, after stabilising, I eventually tapered down to 25mg and both times I ended up crashing. This time the build-up has been much slower: 50mg for 10 weeks, 75mg for 6 weeks, 100mg for 6 weeks, 125mg for 6 weeks, and now 150mg for the past 8 weeks. Weeks 5–7 at the current 150mg were really good and I finally felt like I was coming out of the woods, but then in week 8 things seemed to go downhill again. I’m suddenly feeling a lot of the early adjustment-type symptoms like skin tingling, nonstop intrusive thoughts, sadness, and a sense of despair. I’m feeling quite disheartened because this dose worked so well for me before and it doesn’t seem to be doing the same this time. I’m trying to book an appointment with a psychiatrist to get their perspective and see whether increasing to 200mg might be the next step. Has anyone experienced a setback this late in the adjustment window? I’d really appreciate hearing about similar experiences, as I find these forums incredibly helpful.
Do you take it in the morning or at night?
Have always been taking it in the morning. From my experience morning vs evening only matters during the first few weeks as people react differently to a sudden serotonin increase. Some get very sleepy others buzzy. Once the blood levels stabilise there is not much of a difference when you take it I found. For me personally it’s just easier to pop it with my breakfast.
