i am only 37 turning 38 in am onth gd willing
thanks
Mine was done at age 55....and THAT is considered young to be having this...so you must have a special situation. Good luck. My Dr was also "very" experienced...but his experience was not in the "minimally invasive" type of hip replacement. If I would have known there were different ways to do it...I would have gone to someone else...someone who does the procedure where they don't need to cut soft tissue (muscle). Cutting this soft tissue is what requires a long and painful recovery. The pain is with the excercise therapy. there are "posterior" and "anterior" methods of operating...and they are very different.
I had L thr 12 weeks ago, had the spinal anethestic and was sedated too, was also woried and scared, but next thing you know you are in recovery and its over. I was asleep during op. don't remember anything. I am also getting R thr on march 9, keep us posted on your progress, it is normal to be worried everyone is, you will be fine recovery for someone your age will be good, im 55 and did fine, glad to have my life back.
Hello
it's a natural thing to feel afraid of the unknown but put your trust in the medical profession talk to them explain your fears they will understand and reassure you just think after your operation you will be pain free.
good luck
take care
I am 68 yrs old, ha mine 2nd Feb,with a epidural, all good it went really well and I knew nothing until I woke up. Really nothing to fear. My recovery is going well also.
Good luck
well i had this problem on my hip since i was lke 25 years old so now its unwalkcable in the right the left just begon to hirt but i will do it eventually unless something else comes out,
i am afraid of the operation per se, no the after, ,,,, i am a martial artist so i know i will have to do a lot to go back (not to kick again) but to do some soft tai chi movement, that its for old people lol ,
i am afraid of the operation itlsef after i dont think the pain will be worse than now
Don't be scared. I had the spinal anaesthetic and a light sedation. I fell asleep and when I woke up it was practically all over and was in the Recovery room almost before I knew it. Don't worry, they know what they are doing and are very experienced and will look after you. The feeling came back into my legs after about an hour and half and there was no pain. You are young and healthy and you will have a much quicker recovery than an older person. Just relax and go with the flow. Best wishes.
