So the day has arrived, just waiting to go to the hospital. Nerves have kicked in, I've been fine for 3 months and now it's all become real.
See you all tonight 😊

Hi Matt
Your new life is just over the horizon
Best of luck and don't worry about a thing
Relax and take in the experience - you are in good hands!
Kind wishes Linda xx
You will be fine just remember to do everything they say and if you want pain killers don't hesitate in asking I am now 6 weeks post op and I still take them occasionally now
Thank you ladies. I am looking forward to getting it done and dusted and I know it will be fine, me just being daft.
The one thing I can't work out is....... When I was allowed to eat this morning at 7.30 I really wasn't hungry, now I'm flipping starving. Just had the tesco food shop delivered, that didn't help !!
Good Luck Hippie it will all be fine and all the pain will be gone. Love Gill xx
this is called the law of sod Matt!
Good luck, and do as they say. I know what you mean about nerves kicking in. I work in the labs at the hospital where I had the op. Went to work as usual the day before, got so up tight and nervous in the afternoon I left early. Next day as soon as I got to the surgical admission lounge they all went. Hope it is the same for you when you get there.
Congratulations, hope everything goes well and you are enjoying your new hip soon!
You'll be fine mate. Look forward to reading your journey.
Best wishes
Westie 😊

good luck...... you wont need it though, just pain killers and patience when its all over.
Thank you for all of your kind words and support. Went down at 5 pm and back in my room at 8.30. Was very nervous just before op but nurses put me at ease. Why am I in no pain 8 hours after the op, uncomfortable but not painful, have they given me so much morphine that I just don't know it hurts, will it wear off and be agony, feels like I have a bone sticking out of my butt cheek, not sure if it should feel like that. Feel wide awake but keep on suddenly droppin off. This is all strange and I am sure I am babbling on, sorry. Matt
Hi Matt
Glad you're out and on other side
You will have been given plenty of pain relief so shouldn't be in a lot of pain and the nurses will top you up at regular intervals
You will never be 'in agony'. As soon as you feel any pain that you cannot cope with you must shout and they will give you some liquid morphine which sorts you out straight away. I was having that every couple of hours at night and I was never in any unbearable pain at any time
Yes I know the strange butt feeling - remember that you have had a major op and they have cut through bone. Just be patient and easy on yourself and nod off whenever you feel like it -all perfectly normal!
this is your rest and recuperation time and the nurses will do just that 'nurse' you whilst encouraging your independence
Don' t fret - all his well and your new life with your new hip has just begun
Love and best wishes Linda xx🙏😄💞
