Don’t know if anyone knows this but I found a method to see my cataracts. I made a small pin hole in a business card with a needle. If you look through the pinhole by placing the business card close to your eye you can see two things; firstly the stationary black spots are cataracts, and secondly you can see floaters, but they will be moving around in the pin hole. Very important, you must look though the pinhole towards a bright area like an open window.
Not sure if all cataracts can be seen like this. I have only very small central cataracts and and they thus show up as a black dot right in the centre of the pin hole.
