Self catching abruptly stops

I have been self cathing for about 3 weeks and usually it slows down and then stops. But some times it just comes to a abrupt stop and it makes me wonder why and if it is fully empty. Any one have any opinions?

Sounds like it could be normal. I get that too. t’s recommended that when the flow stops you pull it out just a little bit to drain from the bottom of the bladder. Do you notice a significant difference in volume between the two? You can use a marked beaker and measure. Like I said it could just be normal but if you’re concerned the next time you see herLike I said it could just be normal but if you’re concerned the next time you see her your urologist urologist Have them do a bladder scan after you have self cathed to see if there’s anything left.

Usually hold 350 to 450 in my bladder before i cath. It seems to be consistant at that amount and went from 3 times a day to 2 trying to improve the amount i pee post urolift. It has been 3 weeks and 5 days since procedure but stream is weak at best. Thats why when i do cath i want to make sure it is empty.

400ml is a good reference point. If you’re holding more than 400ml, you want to cath more often. Sounds like you’re right in the sweet spot. That said, arguably you could either cath less – like you’re doing – OR cath more and give your bladder more decompression. More decompression could possibly result in more bladder tone over time and therefore help your stream. Personally, I’d go for more often since you’re less than 4 weeks from urolofit, to give the bladder a rest so it can potentially perform big time later on. But that’s just one man’s opinion.
