Saw my GP who seems very sensible. As you know I am on 3 weekly depo medrone injections. That's fine except if I am away which I will be when the one after next is due, what do I do? He suggested my partners do I go together for the next one, to be taught how to do them ourselves. He will then issue me with the phials of Depo. We have agreed a regime. 120 mg every 3 weeks for twelve weeks, then every month for 3 months, then, reduce by 10 mg every three months. If I have a flare up I can increase the dose again. What do you think? Also asked him about cramps and he confirmed they were a side effect and tonic and magnesium were the best. I am taking a urine sample into surgery to be sent to lab.
Hello Hilary, sorry I can't help you with your injection regime, I can't work out the dosage!! But, self administering of skin / muscle injection is not too difficult. I have done it before now and I'm a real wooss! So don't be anxious about that. I'll let someone who knows more about your medication to help you re your regime. All the best, christina

Are the phials easy to carry? Don't need refrigeration or anything? Where do you do them - tummy or leg?
Giving yourself injections isn't too bad at all - loads of RA patients have to do them, some are done with proper needles, others with the pen things. I've done low molecular weight heparin myself a few times and even did them for my partner a few weeks ago - I actually found it easier doing it on myself than on him!

Yes will make myself be ok. I am a very strong person. I can always collapse when I get home and as we are staying in a 5 star hotel. We can always have room service and champagne in the fridge if I feel bad 😃

I thought about the S&M but didn't like to say on here !!! Depo and champers could be a bad combination. I love this site as you get some really important information but humour too.
