Hi there im just looking for advice really. Ive had cough, cold, headaches, soar throat on and off for about 6 weeks now. It was really bad the first 3 weeks and then its been on and off after that but ive had this lingering cough and thats whats concerning me. Its dry and tickly but also chesty. Im not coughing up huge amounts of phlem but i can feel phlem on my chest. Its more when i have a stuffy nose really. But i will have coughing fits every now and again. The dry tickly sensation is constantly there. I went to docs and she refered me to xray at hospital. I was wondering if anyone else has had this. Surely it should have cleared up by now. I must have a crap amune system. Any comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
The Public Health people report a lot of flu this year and lots of people on this web site have suffered. Persistent or recurrent symptoms are common with some of the viruses this year but your doc is just taking a precaution doing an Xray.
Are you a smoker/ex- maybe takes longer to clear up. Hope you feel better soon but do not worry too much, it just sounds routine precaution on someone with a new cough lasting more than 6 weeks...
I havent smoked for 3 years. But im an electrician and constantly working in dusty environments.
