Hello guys so I've been taking seratlaine 100mg for five weeks now and I thought I was seeing improvements until yesterday that it of no where I started crying and have anxiety and suicide thoughts. Is this normal ? Does it go away eventually or does it mean that the medication is not working? I was feeling so much better until yesterday. I was diagnosed with major depressive disorder and anxious distress. Anyone have positive comments to reassure me this medication is really going to work?
Thank you
In between you will have days like this. But you will feel better soon. This drug takes quite some time to kick in. Hang in there and dont let these thoughts overwhelm you.
ive never been on that but i suggest if its happening more than once every now and then to go back to the doctors and talk to them about it just to be on the safe side
Dear Margarita
I am so sorry to hear you feel like this. Some people do report an increase in suicidal thoughts in the first few weeks after they start taking antidepressants. I would very strongly suggest that you seek help urgently for this. It may be that you need to stop or change your medication, or it may be that you need support to get you through this period. If you are feeling actively suicidal you should contact your GP, or go to an A+E department, immediately. You can find out more on dealing with suicidal thoughts at https://patient.info/health/dealing-with-suicidal-thoughts
Good luck and please do keep talking to your medical team

Thank you Anna, have you taken seratilen as well and went through the same thing I am going through? Thank you for your response
Yeah I have my app with my psych doctor on Monday. Just wondering if the medication acts like this before it actually kicks in
Dr Jarvis today I am so much better but I have that fear that the symptoms will come back. I just want to feel fine already it's been a while and I see results but then something bad happens and I start to get discouraged again.
Dear Margarita,
I'm so glad you feel better, but I really do suggest you speak to your doctor to ensure you have plans in place in case you symptoms start to return again
With best wishes
Dr Sarah Jarvis
See how you are getting on before any increase in dose. If it was only a one day thing, then i think you should hang in there. The doc will not have any problems increasing your dose but if you can stay at the same dose and feel well then why increase it unnecessarily.
