Seroquel - Mirtazaline bloodwork done high glucose

Hi. I have been on these meds for around 4-5 years now everynight.

I done a bloodtest for Lipid's/Glucose. Doctor said today she ordered them again with fasting. Then realised i did fast. I responded with i was eating junk food till around 2am and took the test around 11am. She said hopefully that contributed to the readings otherwise their at alarming numbers. I'm not a doctor obviously but i find it hard to believe i have Diabetes. I looked at symptoms i have none. I Also read some people dont get any symptoms. The thing i'm worried about is i dont will not come off these meds. I have been stable the last 3 years. Prior i had 8 years of hell. So i was thinking if i take the seroquel before bed it naturally spikes my insulin - glucose whatever. If i didnt take it the night before and try not to eat anything after dinner would my readings be lower?. I also read that only antipsychoticscause this problem she said the Mirtazapine aswell and i cant find anything online about Mirtazapine causing Diabetes.

I'd rather have Diabetes if i dont already then come off these meds.

Especially if i dont have any symptom's.

Thanks in advance.

Sorry i think Lipids was high also.

hi john im on mirtazapine and other sleeping aids what else are you on

Hello Susan.

I'm on a cocktail of Seroquel,Mirtazapine,Clonidine,Baclofen,Diazepam.

Doctor's only had my bloodwork done once in the last 5-6 years. That was just KFT's and LFT'S.

So this last test my Lipids and Glucose came back sky high after fasting for around 12hours.

I need to get them run again but i need the readings to come down or i'm thinking she will take me off them two main ones.

I think the Lipids is just from my diet. But the Glucose would have to be from the Seroquel. I know as soon as it kicks in i just start eating whatever i can get my hands on. So i'm thinking if i dont take it the night before it wont cause my insulin to spike and i wont get hungry and drink lots of water. May be wishful thinking but i really dont want cant come off these meds. So i'm worried and prolonging the bloodtest at the moment.
