Is anyone takjng sertaline i have been prescribed it but to scared to take it

I have been taking it for 3 weeks and I have only really had mild side effects. Not sure if it is working yet but it takes time. I was worried too but I'm fine. Go for it

Hi Melanie, I am on Sertraline 100mg for a while now, the only side effects I got initially was feeling sick and tired it goes away. Just try it and see, if they don't work sek advice from doc. Let me know how you are getting on with them. Ok.

I've been in it for 3 1/2 weeks now first 2 weeks had the usually side affects had a couple of good days still waiting for it too kick in good luck

Yes. Have you been on any SSRIs previously? And did they agree with you?

Been on them for six months! It works, you just gotta stick with it. I'm tapering off now as I feel I'm ready, in a far better place - touch wood - than I was.

I got weird side effects, still get them now but they're not nearly bad enough to outweigh the benefits. It's stuff like feeling tired, generally a bit weird, my vision's a bit tunnel-y and I got palinopsia, which I think is actually really rare.

All of that's typical with anxiety anyway though, so y'know.

I understand why you're scared, believe me, but I hope you overcome it and give it a go.

It's. Even 3 1/2 weeks now for me still getting anxitey every day and feeling down only had 2 good day since I started them was it like that for u at the start and how long before feeling better

If you are only just starting on antidepressants, and if (hopefully) you can get better within a year or two and stop, it should be fine.   I don't think it's one of the scary ones.

But I am a long term user of antidepressants, and it worked for me for about 2 years, then stopped working.  While it was working it was OK from a side effects point of view.

Hi Don, it was like that for me. It, got better by 4th week.

What are you on them for and what mg ?

Hi Don, I am on them for depression 100mg. I have had two major operations in the past, I have crohns disease. Even, typing this I stirs emotions.

Yes and panic, hoping it will kick in soon but it does make you more anxious to start with but I have passed that stage. Everyone is different but I'm sure generally most people only have minor effects. You will fine x

Hi Don, I am glad I could help. I actually got a crohns flare up, on meds for it hasn't clear up yet. I have a follow up appointment tis Tuesday to see a consultant.

Yeh am ment to be just starting on them but curremtly having so many scary thoughts

Thank you for the reply.. yes it is very scary i have loads of irrational thought that make me feel like am going crazy do u feel that u havr u like back from using the tableta

I have only ever took one tablets which was 0.5mg of citalpram ... which the nxt day i didnt wanna be alive a was that anxious that was 3 years ago so since then ive tried to do it On my own but now the thoughts of going crazy etc are two overwelming
