hi ive been on setraline since march 14,started on 50mg now on 100mg since 2nd may,i have undiagnosed dizziness since sept 13
the last couple of days i have noticed that my dizziness is virtually gone come 7pm in the evening only to return in the morning when i wake?
i take my tab in the mornings but am thinking of switching to ttaking it in the evening in the hope that my dizziness will be gone come morning and to see if it returns in the evening?
does this make sense?
I only joined this excellent forum recently and haven't had time to keep up. I would like to reply at more length but no time and have been answereing other posts 2hours now, so tired. I'll write to you again very soon. In the meantime I dont think you have been on the meds long enough for the side effects to pass. I had a horrible time in the beginning with dizziness and nausea but it mostly passed but took a while.
I'm slightly concerned that you had your dizziness before taking the sertraline and personally I would go back to the doctor and have it checked out and explain very clearly what you have said in yr post.
Something as simple as a an earproblem can cause dizziness, but as it has not been diagnosed I think it should be investigated.
It is interesting however that your dizziness has improved on the meds. Unless I have misunderstood you.
I'm not a doctor and this is just my personal feeling on the matter. If you can go and have it checked out. Good luck with it all :-)
Hi thanks for the reply, the docs are still investigating my dizziness, I have seen ent and had mri scan and all was clear, ent dont belive it is a problem within my ear, I have been referred to neuro but waiting list is huge.
for the first 2 months the only symptoms I had were just the dizziness 24/7 like I was hungover and still drunk in the morning but this has never gone away, then I started to feel sick and sweaty in public places and couldn eat in restaurants which then made me feel a different kind of dizziness.
the docs said it sounded like anxiety so was put on sertraline, the anxiety has gone but the dizziness remains until around 5pm +? Its not 24/7 anymore which is a bit of a relief.
hiya. Well it seems the sertraline has helped you and the dizziness lessened. Maybe the docs are right and if you continue you will supposedly improve further. I'd keep a watchful eye on the dizziness and note down any changes. if it gets worse again i'd go back to the doctor. It's all so slow and frustrating to find what's wrong and it's worrying so I wish you all the best and hope things improve for you soon. One can't really do more than to keep trying. Good Luck and take care
