Been up and down with these tablets. Lowered and upped the dose. Felt awful tonight, but great night before. Just so concerned that I will need to keep increasing the dose to feel ok. Am going to take 50mg tonight and stick with them until New Year. Happy Christmas to you all
Hi Bernie. I've read on here that sertraline takes anything from 2-8 weeks to really kick in. I'm on week 8 and am just starting to feel a bit better. Plus it can make you feel worse before you feel better so some people take diazapam or beta blockers to help with the early stage. People have also said that you need to start on a low dose like 25 and very slowly go up. Unfortunately my doctor put me straight on 100 and stopped citalopram. Then realised he'd made me ill so dropped it to 50 and now back up to 100. It's a shame we have to suffer before we feel the benefits. Hope the sertraline kicks in for you quickly and you have a nice Xmas. X
I would be a hypocrite if I said I don't play with my doses but you can go up on your dose if you think it will help. I'm on 200 mg daily don't notice if it does anything at all but need to stick to reg dose for sometime. Check with your doc before doing too much re dosing
Hi Bernie how long have you been on the tablets? I would say definitely stick to the 50mg for several weeks then see how you feel....
