Sertraline/Cold Turkey' and Venladex - Should I, shouldn't I?

Having just read through the feed, I wish I'd seen this before I was prescribed with this medication.  I was initally on Citalopram for over a decade and changed on to Sertraline starting at 50mg since the beginning of this year.  I already felt it wasn't helping my symptoms and so Doctor suggested upping it to 100mg, just felt worse.  Went back and advised to stick with it and dose increased to 150mg - yet again felt awful.

I have now gone 'cold turkey', feel at best overwhelmed, panicky amongst other awful symptoms.  My Doctor when I informed him I couldn't cope with Sertraline, changed my medication to Venladex 75mg - I'm actually too scared to even contemplate taking it.  I'm already struggling big time on it/o

Should have said  feed was 'Sertraline Withdrawal .. Does it go away?'

Came off the Sertraline over a period of 3 weeks as directred by doctor. Felt they did not make any difference to me at all so wanted off. Managing ok for now don't want to take anything. Hubby takes antidepressants has for a couple of years and says if he needs he will take them for the rest of his life if it means feeling good.

You cannot go cold turkey of Sertraline! Have to slowly ween off down ten percent each week. Good luck, call the Dr
