Hi I just wanted to put this out there. When I first started sertraline I was obsessed about various factors - whether I could drink on the meds, side effects etc.
I think it’s worth noting when you read some of the content on these forums you can easily be wrapped in other people’s anxiety which then transfers to you.
I drank on these meds for the first time a few weeks ago, had a heavy night out and was fine. In fact, better than fine. So try not to read too much into people’s specific experiences on these forums and learn by your own experiences. I did a little trial of drinking before my massive night of drinking by having a few drinks the two days that lead up to the night out, enjoyed every drop and I used these experiences as almost a scientific experiment, in anticipation for the night out, all fine!
Don’t read into people’s own experiences of side effects as I think due to our very over thinking, super scanner kind of anxiety, you are at risk of thinking you are suffering them yourself.
Learn by your own personal, unique, individual perception and experience of being on a new medication and you’ll be fine, try not to worry or believe to much on these forums.
Sertraline has been a wonder drug and has given me my life back. I also of course use CBT on the side as well for those mega anxious moments. I am on 100 mg.
Thanks
