I am confused as to how you find which dose works for you?
There is plenty talk and medical back up to say it takes approx 4 to 6 weeks for Sertraline to work so surely if you start at 50mg you need to give it that length of time before moving to 100mg should it not work. Likewise from 100mg to 150 mg and so on until you reach 200mg. If after that point there is no change then you could say it is the wrong drug for you but not before I would have thought? I read about so many people giving up way to early and then criticise the drug. I am no expert but do have an excellent doctor who believes it is best to build up slowly.I hope everyone reading this gets well very soon.
Yes I think you’re right. I have been building up from 50 MG since June And now been on 150 MG for five weeks. About two weeks into the 150 I noticed an improvement but that seems to have been temporary. Planning to hold out to 8 weeks on this dose before considering the next level.I guess I’m just desperate to feel better again And for this anxiety/OCD to calm down.
I agree with your post and share the same views... if you’ve be told to increase after 2weeks, how would you ever know if the lower dosage wouldve work if given the correct time??
I would rather maintain a lower dosage if possible knowing I had room to increase if necessary, than fly threw the levels and have nowhere to go if things became tough again.
I started on a 50mg dose with awful side effects. Wish I'd had 25mg start up. After 2 years of 50my working, anxiety started up again. Dr said to increase to 100mg but I told him I would go to 75mg which is working. Agree with start low and build up.
