Hey,
Today is my third day taking sertraline 50mg, however I've had a bad tension headache yesterday and today and I've not been sleeping well since I've started taking these.
Is this normal? And has anyone else experienced these side effects with these tablets.

I don't know about sert but on my meds I had tension dull headache for about a week after starting. It eased off but with each increase of dose,I had it again. I just increased 4 days ago and had the tension,buzzy feeling again. It lasted until today. It's gone now xx
When you say you are not sleeping well. Is that because of increased anxiety or just not sleeping well because your mind won't shut down?
Can you try and do some deep breathing exercised or try a little meditation,clear your mind??xx
with sertraline i had a bad tension headache for about a week also, i wouldn't worry about any side effects until after 1-2 weeks cause usually they will wear off, if not then maybe try something else
Thanks for your reply, the headache is not so bad today. However the last few nights I've had real difficulty sleeping, I only got 3 hours last night.
Hopefully this will pass soon and that its just a side effect you get when you begin taken these tablets.

I've not been sleeping well since I've been on these tablets, I only got 3 hours sleep last night.
I slept well before I started taking these tablets, i just really hope it will pass soon and that its just a normal side effect when starting these tablets.

With most medications there is a increase in anxiety when first taking them and lots of people report sleep disturbances too. I think it's all part and parcel when starting medication.
Im on mirtazapine so it has a sedative effect and helped me sleep from the very first night but when I was on Citalopram I had sleep issues for a while xx
Sertraline causes like this sometimes...Once you get adjusted it will be normal.
