hello kate i hope you will consider taking 50mg for at least 2 weeks, before deciding if you would like to increase, as it sounds like at the moment the 100mg is too much too soon so it is giving you very difficult side effects
try not to worry, you are on the road to recovery and WILL get well again. with your anxiety i know it is difficult but try not to overthink things. instead just say "i have anxiety at the moment, but it wont be forever".
if things do end up getting too much for you, go back to your doctor and get something fast acting to help your anxiety and make you calm and relaxed. you can take that for a frew weeks to a month along with your sertraline, so your body can get used to the sertraline much easier
Everyone gets started on 25mg or 50mg and it takes 3-4 weeks to adapt to your system and then people normally get a higher dose and feel great.. Im a little puzzled im guessing this is not your first medication? and you also take other medications correct?
hi, i did try that myself in the past, by starting on a high dose (it was 20mg of escitalopram, which is high), and i felt awful even after 6 weeks, so i went to my doctor and he told me i had started way too high, and it was too much for my body to cope with. he was right because i halved my dose and felt better the very next day and onwards, for doing so
you cant rush your recovery, i know you want to and it's annoying and difficult to wait, but just go with 50mg for 2 weeks, the time will go fast dont worry, and then you can take it from there (increase in dose or stick on 50mg if it turns out that you feel ok on that dose)
at the moment it sounds like 100mg is a lot for your system to have to get used to all in one go. i suppose you could try to stick it out if you want, but most people (and it even says so in the leaflet) would not start that high. most people would start on 50mg, for 2-4 weeks. it's the seinsible, safer, and proper way to do it.
dont worry your anxiety will ease once you reduce your dose, i will stake my reputation on it keep us posted ok, and remember all will be well soon, just need time, like all of us
