Sertraline Side Effects

Hi I was on sertraline (200mg) for a few years and last year I tried coming off it gradually (100-50) and I was fine but after a couple of weeks coming off it completely I started to feel very nauseous and weepy again so my doc advised that I wasn't ready and I went back on to 100mg. A year has passed and after other therapies I felt I was ready again but the same thing has happened.

Should I try to ride it out as I'm looking to start a family but the way I'm feeling now I'm struggling to get out of bed?

Hi Emma, it might be worth seeing how you get on but always have in the back of your mind that you can go back on it at any time. You may benefit from going on a maintenance dose once you feel well, I'm not sure what the maintenance dose is for Sertraline but it can be google'd.

Ive found being on a maintenance dose also gives you peace of mind.

Speak to your GP about how it might effect starting a family.

I've never heard of a maintenance dose so I'll ask my GP thank you smile
