Sertraline withdrawal

Hi

I'm on 150mg of sertraline and have been for about 4 months. It isn't working so my GP has suggested I come off it.

What experiences do you have of doing this and in what stages did you reduce the dose?

Thanks

Hi is best fori was put on that too to be honest i was put on a different one at first and that made me ill, so i was put on this, 50mg at first nothing happened so my doctor up it to 100mg, still nothing but made me worse bad heads and nausea, so without telling my doctor i went down to 50mg, for a couple of days then i told my doctor he said it was fine but said if i do not feel any better then come of it, the only problem is i was put on this for severe depression and anxiety, so i knew if i am not taking anything i am going to have these problems, so i need to sort out a drug that works for me and i believe in alternative medicine too, find out what is best for you, your own body and mind will know, and your doctor and counselling is great too, good luck

Some people just stop taking Sertraline without withdrawal effects but others need to taper. I came off 150mg in March but went back on 50mg in June because I still had symptoms. I am now coming off it again because I don’t think it is helping me. I reduced from 50mg to 25mg 12 days ago. I am going to see how I feel in two days then reduce a bit more.

Why not reduce to 125mg and see how you feel after a week?
