Sertraline

I am just about to start taking Sertraline. My GP has just prescribed them, I have been taking Citalopram for the past 4 weeks and felt dreadful no appetite, sleeping 17 hours a day dizzy, nauseas and a horrible salty taste in my mouth all the time. After reading the comment about Sertraline I am worried taht these symptons will only worsen. I already suffer from anxiety attaks and really can't imagine them getting any worse.

Guess I'll have to see how I go on. I'd be interested to hear of any positive changes people have gained from taking Sertraline.

I took Sertraline for about 4 weeks and felt slightly better after about a week and a half. The side effects included loss of sleep and sex drive throughout (which I suppose is a small price to pay for feeling more relaxed), however after about the third week, started to feel really agitated to say the least so came off of them without any obvious withdrawal symptoms.

Doctor advised that I should stay on them for at least three months, but feeling better (been off them for about 2 weeks now) and to be honest, I don't think I will take antidepressants again, although I do think they offered an emotional crutch at the time.

iv been on sertraline 50mg for about amonth then doctor put it up to 100mg im still taking them this day only thing I find is I feel sleepy most days with no go in me.does anyone else get this sleep problem I know other antidepressents can make you sleepy.

I also started on 50 now on 100, at the start I had sleepless nights and headaches. Those have gone, the only side effect I have now is really shaky esp with my hands, thinking of going to see dr to maybe change to something else.

I'd been on Sertraline for 9 years, 200mg/day. I worked down to 50mg over the last year and haven't had any now for a week - accidentally (holidays without them). As I've done 7 days, suffering no more than physical problems: disrupted vision, tiredness, spaced, I think I should just continue without them as long as the withdrawals don't get worse and I feel ok emotionally. What do you think? How long does it take?

By the way I think Sertraline was fantastic, brought me through a bad marriage, miscarriage, deaths of both parents, separation, divorce and early years of three small children. I'm glad not to need it any more.

my doctor has now put me back on 50mg iv been taking sertraline since april justworking on me now im taking 50mg I don't get the tired feeling during the day.....you just cant come off them you got to be weened.
