hi all hope u are all doing ok! gone from 50mg to 100mg. on day 6 of 100mg feel awfull will this pass any advice please? x
Hi Julie,
I am taking 75 mg and am supposed to go to 100 mg now but Iike you I feel awful! I am so anxious and wake up feeling like the skin on my arms is burning, I am nauseous and shakey and have no appetite or ambition to do anything.
I don't know if this is the way it is supposed to be?? It certainly hasn't improved my life at all. I hope some other people will tell us if they had similar experiences with this drug.
hi lois .
i feel like i have flu . how long have u been on 75mg hun..hate this x
I was on 50 then increased to 100, now have just come off them as my doctor things they may have been irritating my stomach. I am not sure how much good they did me, I just felt quite numb. I lost a lot of weight, no appetite, listless, lack of concentration and sleep.... so tired all the time. Now that I am in withdrawal, I feel weepy and anxious... my stomch isnt reallt much better. I hated being on the tablets though and fought them the whole way, so maybe I didnt help myself. I dont know what I feel anymore, but sometimes life just feels like its too hard... I hope you feel better soon Julie

Hi Julie ... so sorry to hear that you are feeling worse. I was on 50mg for 2 months and was sick from day 2 after start using it. Trembling, nauseau, extreme dizziness, burning skin and hands and feet .... point is, I stopped eating and lost a lot of weight. I have decided no wean myself off it and did so gradially over 3 weeks. First week I took 3/4, second week 1/5 and the last week 1/4 - I'm now on day 5 with no sertraline and I actually woke up yesterday morning and the first thing that popped into my mind was .... I want to bake cookies today ... that was so random. I have a lot of energy, even had people over for supper tonight. Point is, you must make your own decision .... does your body accept this chemical change or not. In my case, it hasn't, and I stopped. I took sertraline to get me over a non smoking addiction withdrawal process, but I wish I never took it and just pushed through because I feel like I lost 2 months of my life. Hope you are getting better soon and let us know how its going.

Julie,
Bad effects occur during first month, which is about how long it takes for good effects to start.
But do you need 100 mg? My temp doc thought that's normal dose, I tried 100 but went back to 50 which was fine. Some are OK on 25 or 50, others are more, depends on your situation. And it takes awhile to find if 50 was enough, dosage isn't simple, hard to tell if you need 50, 75 or 100.
hi my gp put me on 100mg over the phone with out seeing me.. 50mg is enough for me had a terrible week on 100mg to high so going back to 50mg thank you for your reply x
how did u feel when they put you on 100mg pmnc? x
Julie,
I felt terrible initially, anxious, fidgety, crazy dreams. That may have gone done after a few weeks but I didn't take it that long, 50 worked for me to prevent panic and reduce anxiety.
Another reason to avoid 100 is, if you get used to it, it's hellacious to cut back, for me anyway, insomnia, high anxiety, brain zaps...
It would be easier to quit 50 (I really have to reduce ssri's gradually for months to avoid problems.)
still wondering what brain zaps are...
pmnc i havent taken 100mg today feel better all ready still anxious through i was on 100mg for 7 days i should be ok hopefully! i dont want 100mg i was taken back when gp gave me them i was doing so well! its awfull x
I meant 50 prevented panic attacks and reduced insomnia. Odd med, I feel a bit more anxious, fidgety on it than not but that's OK.
I don't get CBT: it could tell me I'm not going crazy or dying if I have a panic attack. I know that, I'm not going to any ER, I just get the same feeling as if my house is on fire and I can't get out but I know that's not true.
head shocks hun were your head feels like someones given you a shock on ur head hun x
pmnc how long u been on this drug its not for anxiety its for depression what are the gps thinking arhhh
thanks Julie, pleased to say that this is one symptom that I did not have ...
