l am just wondering, is anybody who is on this medication, still
holding down a job, even though some of you are into years on
some sort of antidepressant.
please let me know your thoughts

I worked with many people who were on anti depresants and held jobs. In fact i had a bank manager who was on tehm for years and rose to a V.P. position. It's a matter of getting the proper med and the proper dosage which is a trial and error process.
I once taught classes of 25 GCSEs pupils for ten months on Sertraline....it was difficult
I have been on Zoloft for 2 years and have held a steady job. The start up side effects were hard on me but luckily my boss understood and took it easy on me. I am much better on the medicine than I was off of it. There were times I had panic attacks at work before being on it and my boss would have to calm me back down. She's very understanding and I'm thankful for that. Mental health is so widely understood now, at least I feel this way, that you are not discriminated upon.
