My father's Serum gamma GT Levels read 855 U/L , I am aware that this is extremely close to liver however I don't know the full implications of this reading. As in, is it reversible? is there too much damage already done? can medication be prescribed to reduce the levels? Any information on this would be greatly appreciated and please be as honest as possible.
Hello yes the results of bloods are high. Not sure if alcohol is involved but stopping will bring levels down I have cirrhosis and ignored my high levels of (gamma) and all others I understand them now as I've read up on them. It should be reversed with heathy eating and cut down or cut out alcohol. I can't touch it what do ever my liver won't cope with it. All the best.
