Severe butt/inner thigh pain after THR & psoas surgery..Who else has severe lower butt pain after

Im getting desperate....I had a right THR anterior in Feb 20 2017. I was only pain free approx 45 days then all the groin pain started. After exactly 1 year I found a good surgeon to do partial psoas release (lengthening) 2 1/2 weeks ago...most of pain I had is groin except severe butt pain located right over butt bone on right cheek towards groin..I see alot of posts on butt pain....I was hoping that this would be taken care of psoas release.

Sitting is painful, laying down is painful....can't stand all the time...Who else has had butt pain and psoas release....In my case the anterior hip replacement was the worst decision of my life. I am in debilitating pain all day!

Patientzero, a good physician should be able to determine why you have the severe butt pain. If x-rays show no problems with your bones and implants, it must be a soft tissue problem. It could have something to do with gluteal tendons/muscles. There are three gluteals - the maximus, minimus and medius. Problems with them can be seen via musculoskeletal diagnostic ultrasound or MRI. Also physical examination of what you can and cannot do will help with the diagnosis. Are you able to balance on the surgical leg, the one with the butt pain? After THR I was unable to balance at all on the surgical leg, had a bad limp and pain. At 7 months post-op I got the diagnosis of torn gluteus medius and minimus tendons, and the tears were bad enough to warrant surgical repair, which I had 15 months after the THR. I am now able to balance on that leg and walk without a limp. That side is not as strong as my other leg, but I am happy with the results. Your problem could, of course, have completely different origins, but I tell my story to illustrate that pain in that area can be diagnosed and treated. Usually surgery is not required, but sometimes it is.

Oh, and I should mention that I had to have MARS MRI, in order to make the images clearer because the metal in the implants distorts the images. MARS stands for Metal Artifact Reduction Sequence.

Good luck finding a physician who can accurately diagnose and hopefully treat you.

Thank you but i think you misread my question...of course i have all testing..people on here are not idiots and have already been to see several drs...did u miss psoas surgery? Thank you for your input..i will rephrase question then

My apologies for a grumpy reply...I will delete and repost a better quality question
