Severe Pain walking......šŸ¤”

Hiya to my fellow hippies…

Had my RTHR Oct last year, all good on recovery up to Jan this year, then started having lower back pain and pain down both legs. my left hip will need doing this year sometime, this morning walking out with Hugo my black Lab, the pain at the top of my right leg and around the back was unbearable bad. that bad i couldn’t put weight in my right leg at all, i stood still for a couple if minutes, then sat off very carefully  thing was i was placing my right foot down at 2’o clock foot pointing at angle, this was ok in fact no pain at all, i was able to get back home with ease with walking with foot at 2’o clock. just wanted to ask if anyone had similar problems, it was like i had been putting pressure on a nerve or something, waiting to see physio about this lower back pain…

As ever i appreciate your help and advice..

Stay Safe .. Pete

Have you considered that this could all stem from your back. being displaced? If had your symptoms after having a replacement hip this possibility would be my first thought. It would be quick to get it checked out by a chiropractor preferably not a McTimoney trained one.If your back is the issue then it is likely that it could be put right at that first visit. Good luck, Richard

It could be as Ken says, because of your back. I had a second revision - long story :frowning: - last year, and started getting thigh pains. Luckily I am on a Faceybook group which includes a physiotherapist who has had a double THR, and an orthopedic surgeon as members. Between them they were able to sort me out very easily with a ā€˜muscle roller’ device which I now use daily to masssage the muscles.
The details are on my website in ā€˜Online Resources’.
