Sex after THR??

Hi,

I'm 53 and had THR from both of my hips during the last two years. Due to pain and stiffness, our sex life had come to an end. 

Since I'm feeling much better and feel no pain , I wonder if there is a safe  way for sex after THR??

What are the precautions to be taken?

I would really appreciate to hear your advise on this subject.

I'm 6 weeks post op from my second THR, posterior approach.

I found by chance a brilliant website if you google "Precautions for Total Hip Replacement Patients only" and look for one  from iuhealth. It is very long and comprehensive on all aspects ; it  gets to your topic at the end. p.s. not tried out !!!!

Okay I'll pipe up my husband and I did try the other day, I'm 7 weeks post op from posterior approach.

From behind was the only position I felt safe in to be honest, and it was fine.

YES!

As folk say, check google and wine first - go gently: generally patient on top.

Not sure about the spoons tho as advised: do you hold a spoon in each hand to tighten as the moment approaches?!
