Sex Question

If both partners have HSV..let's say they have the same one. Do they have to have restrictions during sex? If it's on my genitals can I still give oral or it can spread there too? Only asking for a couple who both have the same type of HSV.

If the same GH type, then there are no issues with sexual intercourse. Even oral sex should be fine, since having GH *should* generally protect you from getting it orally, although I'm sure exceptions are possible (more so with HSV-1, since HSV-2 rarely favours the oral region).

Forgot to mention that newly infected individuals can still potentially transmit the virus to other parts of their bodies (either by themselves or by their infected partners, since we are talking about infected couples), mostly in the case of HSV-1. Once sufficient antibodies have been established (after 3-6 months?), this should not happen.

Thank you!

Well lets put it this way; would you kiss someone on the mouth if they had a cold sore ulcer on their lip ?

No, you cannot still have oral.
