Hey
I'm on week 4 of 20mg citalopram. I was taking 10mg for 4mths and the doc recommend I move up to 20mg.
The side effects are only hitting me now after 4 weeks
I've noticed I'm shaking Inside like I'm afraid or nervous and I'm getting very small anxiety attacks (there manageable), sweaty palms and my body temperature goes up and down...plus bad thoughts
Anybody no when this is going to fade...
Advice would be great
Thanks
Your side effects appear different to the ones which I experienced as is the time scale for the onset of side effects (mine appeared on day two of uping the dose from 10 mg to 20 mg per day. My advise is do not be afraid to go back to the GP sooner than later and discuss the options dont soldier on. Your situation should be monitored by both of you until a decission on a way forward is found be it with or without the use of Cit!!
Hi Cheryl,
All sounds familiar!
There will be others along with more experience and advice, but I just wanted to reply to say I have had these and others. "How long is a piece of string!" is the answer as we are all very different and, obviously, somethings will apply to females rather than males.
I have been on Cita for the last 3 months starting on 10mg, then up to 20mg and now on 30mg. I found that Cita caused more anxiety before it gradually treated it, I am on sick leave for work related stress by the way, and things are getting better petite a petite. However, I must post something myself after this as I have some bizarre dreams!
Stick with it unless for some medical reason yer Doc pulls you off, hopefully, gradually. In the meantime here is the place for advice and reassurance.
Good luck!
Regards,
David
Hello- This is a little off point but I noticed you both have been on Citalopram for close to 3-4 months. I wanted to check in and ask a question? I have been on Citalopram 20mg now for 4 months. The only major issue I am still facing is this very spaced out feeling that I of course think is a brain tumor. It causes my anxiety to go higher. Did either of you experience this?
