I was recently diagnosed with HSV1 genitally. I have accepted the diagnosis and am trying to move on and feel like myself again, for me this includes some grooming downstairs. My first outbreak is pretty much cleared away and I feel no pain whatsoever. Can I shave? The last thing I want to do is open anything up or cause another outbreak but I really do want to feel fresh again. Any insight?
everyone has different triggers but the irriation from the hair regrowth may cause one! Having hsv1 may make you less prone! But you wont know till you try!
Personally i have type 2 and prefer to wax, as a wax lasts longer then an outbreak! I Just up my valtrex for the day before and after and usually i am fine! Sometimes i get a tingle after but no outbreak!
I think you should wait for a while after the first outbreak is completely healed. As the shedding virus may trigger another outbreak, shaving could be a risk.
