Hi does anybody else get shooting pains down their thigh in bed it first happened on the 2nd night post surgery physio said it was nerves reawakening but just done it 3 times when I went for nap it does not last but does wake me
I did and still do. Like little electric shocks, strange tingling sensation. More in the unoperated thigh though and very uncomfortable. Few times painful enough to make me yell
Physio said could be nerves or because I'm sleeping on my back. Likely to stop once can sleep on side again
Think it is quite common.
X
Hi apparently very common as still get it into 7 week post op.
A speedy recovery x
At that stage when I not sure what is normal or not
Yes I had really bad ones like spasms on day 2 ended up having opiates and diazepam to get some relief still get them periodically I'm now day
17 seems to happen more when I'm tired and when I'm sleeping. I just
take some paracetamol or ibuprofen and it usually settles x
I'm 4 weeks post op and still have pains, my thigh on operated side has been very tender and sore to touch. Lots of shooting pains. Had first physio session today and been told to just gently rub my thigh to try and reawaken it.
Tracey, I am 7 weeks post op and have a numbness from top of leg down front & side of thigh. I am also experiencing little shocks and burning pains which can be quite painful. My GP says it is nerve pain and is hopeful it will resolve in time. You will have doubts about many things which will occur and sharing on this forum will help.
Hi Tracey,
I had similar sensation/uncomfortable cramp like pain in my operated leg but only when I was laid flat on my back when going to sleep. I had oramorph for a couple of weeks post op just 1 syringe on a night before bed which helped. Luckily that didn't continue so probably just post op muscle/nerve adjustment.
Hope you feel better soon! X
