Hi Hilary! Poor you! Just when your doing well! If your no better by Monday call your gp and go and see them ! Or call your consultant! Don't over things this weekend! Take pain killers and rest! Regards Amanda
Hi Hilary
I had similar, especially when in bed and lying on my back.
Sometimes it was so sharp it made me yell!
Now I just get a tingling. Mine is in the unoperated side.
My Osteopath thinks it is coming from my back and should ease as I can now sleep on my side
I thought it was just nerves mending and resetting
Have heard others have had similar
Good luck

I dont get much pain anymore at 9 weeks but I remember for like first 6 weeks, getting all kinds of different pains, sharp pain every now and then too
Hello Hilary. I too have experienced this and think it's part of the healing process even if not all experience it. Mine settled down with rest and paracetamol. Today I went out with one stick for the first time and got aches and pains which settled after rest. I have just entered my eighth week today with my assessment on Tuesday so have many questions for chief hip
Hope this reassures you
Ann
It's probably just nerves & muscles healing. I'm 13 weeks post op & have had similar pains now & again. If it continues & you're worried then go see your GP.
It's still early days yet, keep up with the exercises. Get plenty of rest & don't overdo it.
I think it is healing pain. I had all sorts of odd pains . The nerves start regenerating and I felt all sorts of interesting things.
Unless , it doesn't let up or swells , I'd go see my Dr.
Or ask your PT.
Hilary,I have similar discomfort at six weeks and GP explained nerve in this area causing shocks. Seems to come and go.
Hi
thanks to everyone for reassurance. Taking a few meds and will rest up.

Hi Hilary,
Thanks for posting this as I too get sudden electric shocks down my legs, strangley though it's usually when I'm still, sat down or in bed. They really make me jump and sometimes I'm left with a nagging pain down from my knee through my foot, this mostly happens on my non-op side,
Was thinking about seeing my GP but think I'll leave it a bit and see if it eases off, as like others I think it's probably nerves and muscles, and fat ha ha, settling down. I am 11 weeks post op and do not use any walking aid now, but might start using my stick again for a bit.
Hope things settle for you soon

Hi Jane
i think I over did it before pains started and now I get a twinge now and then which is quite sharp. Everything is knitting back together now so I suppose it's to be expected. I want to get back to normal but you can't rush these operations. Thanks for your comments.
